Dear Students,
Please note the following important information before the start of the new academic year on 1 September 2025.
| 1. | Personal Information and “My Academics” in “Profile” tile under CUSIS |
| To ensure data accuracy, please review once again the records of name in both English and Chinese (if applicable, and please pay special attention to the variant of Chinese characters to make sure that the ones as appeared in CUSIS should be the same as in your HKID card), addresses, emergency contact information in “Profile” tile under CUSIS, and update them whenever necessary. The University may need to contact you and/or your emergency contact person by phone/mail whenever urgent situations arise. Students should also enquire detailed academic information under “My Academics”, including major programme, sub-plan/concentration (where applicable), study period, etc. Please check the information carefully and contact RES if there are any discrepancies. | |
| 2. | First Term Teaching Timetable |
| Please refer to “Information on Teaching Timetable 2025-26” posted on RES website for detailed information on teaching timetable, venues/classrooms and updating schedule. | |
| 3. | First Term Course Enrolment under CUSIS (27 August 2025) |
| – Students should check their time appointments for course selection in “Enrollment Dates” under CUSIS starting from 20 August 2025. It is students’ responsibility to check the time appointments under CUSIS and logon CUSIS at the designated time periods for course registration. For details of course enrollment, please refer to “First Term, 2025-26 Course Registration and Add/Drop” posted on RES website.
– As departments may make amendments to the timetable information and/or course enrolment rules, students MUST check their eligibility to enroll the course(s) prior to course registration. – Application for exceeding term course load in 1st term 2025-26 (for update of term course load for course registration period) starts today (18 August 2025) and will close on 20 August 2025 (11:59 p.m.). For details, please refer to the information on RES website. Please allow time for your Major Department to consider the applications and results will ONLY be released on CUSIS starting from 22 August 2025. Please contact RES by email (ugadmin@cuhk.edu.hk) if the result has NOT been released on CUSIS at 12:00 noon on 26 August 2025. – Students should always refer to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) first and contact RES by email (ugadmin@cuhk.edu.hk) with screen capture of the problem message if they encounter any problems during course registration. |

| 5. | Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools in Teaching, Learning and Assessments – A Guide for Students |
| Please take note of the “Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools in Teaching, Learning and Assessments – A Guide for Students” which is available at this website: https://www.aqs.cuhk.edu.hk/documents/A-guide-for-students_use-of-AI-tools.pdf. | |
| Each course will adopt an approach on the use of AI tools in students’ learning activities and/or assessments and the details will be spelt out clearly in the course outline or learning activity/assessment guide. Please study the course outline and/or learning activity/assessment guide of individual assignments in detail and ensure that you follow the instruction and seek clarification from the course teacher if in doubt. Any improper/unauthorized use of AI tools in learning activities and assessments will be handled in accordance with the University’s Procedures for Handling Cases of Academic Dishonesty. | |
| Please pay close attention to the latest information and instruction provided by the course teacher as the guidelines and policies on the use and application of AI tools in teaching and learning will be regularly reviewed and updated. | |
| 6. | Copyright of Lecture Recordings |
| Students should note that copyright of the lecture recordings shared in the course, whether they are produced by the teachers, students, or peer note-takers, belongs to the University. Students should not share the lecture recordings with others without obtaining prior written consent from the teachers concerned. Additionally, students should not record lectures unless they have obtained the teacher’s consent. | |
| 7. | First Teaching Day of 2025-26 and Inauguration Ceremony for Undergraduates |
| The first teaching day of 2025-26 is on 1 September 2025. Classes will be suspended (excluding MBChB Programme Years 2-6) in the morning until 1:30 p.m. on 1 September 2025 for Inauguration Ceremony for Undergraduates and related activities. |
