Re: 1st Term, 2025-26 Course Add/Drop

Dear Students,

The first teaching day of 1st term 2025-26 will be on 1 September 2025. Students should pay attention to the following information pertaining to course add/drop of this academic term, and if necessary, refer to the detailed information on RES website.

1. Application for Exceeding Term Course Load on CUSIS (application period: 28 August – 1 September 2025)
If necessary, applications for exceeding course load (for update of term course load for course add/drop period) should be submitted during the specified period as announced on RES website.  Late applications will NOT be considered.  Please read the detailed information on RES website before submission.
For year 1 students, please read the information of the course load permitted for their Major Programme before submitting applications for exceeding course load.
2. Course Add/Drop on CUSIS (8-14 September 2025)
If applicable, add/drop courses should be done under CUSIS from 8 September 2025 (at 8:30 p.m.) to 14 September 2025 (at 8:30 p.m.), except for courses with “add/drop consent” which are to be handled by submission of hard copy form.  To free up quotas for other students, students who no longer intend to register for the course(s) should DROP the course(s) as soon as possible within the add/drop period.  Dropping of courses after 14 September 2025 may not be allowed by Departments unless with special reasons.  Students who are on wait list will be added to the class automatically whenever the quota is increased, or when the quota is freed up by other students.  It is students’ own responsibility to check their updated course enrolment under “View My Classes” on a daily basis.
3. Special Course Add/Drop at Department (15-19 September 2025)
Students with special reasons may approach the course offering departments concerned for course add/drop during 15-19 September 2025.
4. Regulation on Course Load
Students should observe Regulation 5.0 of the General Regulations Governing Full-time Undergraduate Studies on “Course Load and Selection” regarding the prescribed course load of registering at least 9 units and no more than 18 units of courses in any academic term within the normative study period, unless otherwise permitted.  Students who do not meet the above course load requirement at this moment MUST add or drop courses on CUSIS during the add/drop period to comply with the Regulation.

With best regards,
